Business Issue
Healthcare providers frequently deal with inefficient, manual methods for handling e-prescriptions and maintaining medical histories. This outdated manual process often leads to errors and redundancy for healthcare providers and patients alike.
To improve the medication management and e-prescription process, our team worked in collaboration with the client to develop a comprehensive solution designed specifically to target the complexities of medication management across healthcare settings.
Throughout development, it was crucial to gain cross-departmental alignment. The updates needed to meet rigorous tech stack requirements, AWS infrastructure design requirements, HIPAA compliance, and adhere to security policies. Proposed solutions required a working Proof of Concept (POC) for final approval and needed to function in a way that made any new third-party integration reusable across similar existing applications.
Solution
Our team developed a cloud-based platform that incorporates advanced features including e-prescribing and medication history tracking. It seamlessly integrates with EHR systems to streamline patient care management. Collaborating closely with the client, we handled the entire process from conception to implementation, providing Development, DevOps, and QA services, alongside AWS Cloud expertise.
We utilized technologies including Java for the backend, AngularJS for the frontend, and MySQL for the database, hosting everything on AWS. Fully automated deployment via AWS CloudFormation and Jenkins ensured a scalable, HIPAA-compliant environment using Blue-Green deployment techniques.
Security measures including single sign-on and two-factor authentication were implemented to secure prescriptions. The platform is EPCS-certified, integrating with third-party solutions for identity proofing and medication information. Robust data imports enhanced user experience, and our streamlined deployment process reduced deployment time to just 15 seconds.
This platform facilitates easy and compliant prescribing of all drug types, revolutionizing healthcare providers' workflows and operations.
